Those upcoming holidays. . .

Now, while I do think it’s too early for Christmas things, I’d be lying if I told you I didn’t love these. In fact, I spent a good 3 minutes laughing at them. I think Prancer is my favorite.

EDIT: These are supposed to be gifs. I am sorry if the gifs are not gifing when you come. :-( You are missing out very much. You can try right-clicking and opening the images in new tabs, or just go here to my friend Alicia’s Tumblr.

Credit goes to Tumblr, where I find most things that are awesome.

Here’s the thing, you guys. I LOVE Christmas. I do. So very much. So many good feels. Good feels that should indeed remain in your heart all year long.

However.

It’s a special time of year that grows less special the more time we spend in it. Like on The Incredibles? If everyone’s special, no one is?

Frackin’ commercial racket, as Lucy says on the Charlie Brown Christmas special (paraphrased).

Target is really bad about it. and Starbucks, with those red cups the day after Halloween. EVERYONE CALM DOWN. We haven’t even made it to Thanksgiving yet! and Thanksgiving is fucking awesome.

I’m really excited about Thanksgiving actually. Kind of sad – it will be my first Thanksgiving ever without my family – that is, my immediate family that I grew up with that. This year, the Husband and I are spending Thanksgiving with his family, and I know it will be wonderful, particularly due to that football game, between UT and TCU… you know… because Aaron’s parents went to TCU, and we went to UT. :D It’s gonna be awesome!

Also, I’m making chocolate gingerbread and apple pie bites. I’ll let you know how those turn out. :-)

Related, I’m thinking of occasionally sharing some of the food I make here on the blog. Not that I’m a pro in the kitchen by any stretch of the imagination, and sadly, you won’t actually get to partake of the food, but it could be cool, yeah? Thoughts?

I would like to end with some wonderful words from my friend, Molly.
